Verified on-host: metrics contract under real prod-profile traffic, JSON logs parseable, backup ran twice + KEEP_DAYS=1 prune + restore-drill PASS, real-stack full-loop 1 passed (no regression). Design defaults D1/D2/D3 (hand-rolled metrics / crontab / local rolling dir) after an unanswered consult; overridable per spec §2.
